OUR STORY
Special Gases Enterprises Pty Ltd, better known as SGI was founded in the late 90's by four individual contractors who were completing medical gas installations for the then CIG. Since then we have grown immensely and developed into the trusted and respected firm we are today.
Based in North Melbourne our company has a estimating, project management, drafting, manufacturing and administration team with the ability to service projects of all sizes.
We are constantly looking to improve to offer excellent service to our clients and an installation quality that is second to none. Over the years we have developed quality assurance procedures that ensure all steps are taken to deliver projects to specified design requirements and relevant Australian Standards.
STRUCTURE
Our company is structured to allow for us to efficiently & effectively complete all projects we are engaged on. We a have core management team who are engaged with all aspects of the company's operations. We meet on a weekly basis to discuss project requirements and ensure all projects are receiving adequate and timely resources.
We have a vast data base of fully qualified mechanical plumbers and certified welders that we can call upon whenever additional labour is required. Our organisational structure allows us to grow and shrink to meet various project demands, thus ensuring program deadlines are always met.
Our onsite employees are covered under three groups:
- Fully qualified mechanical plumbers.
- Plumbers apprentices.
- Certified welders.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
Our extensive experience and robust industry reputation highlight an organisational culture that is committed to ensuring that all our projects are completed to the highest degree of quality as a result of our installers focus on doing a job well done. We have full Quality Assurance plans for both medical and laboratory work and all SGI employees are trained on how to follow these procedures to ensure that the quality of our projects is consistently of the highest degree.
Continuous improvement is our mantra and we are constantly reviewing our QA and project outcomes to ensure that we implement improvements where required and learn from each project. If you have specific QA requirements, we are happy to work with your team to make the required modifications.
Our commissioning practices are amongst the most trusted in the industry. We engage an independent contractor to commission our medical gas projects. This separation from the installation team offers an additional level of security for the end users, ensuring the integrity of the installed life system.
OHS AND INSURANCE DOCUMENTATION
We are fully compliant to work on all major construction and union job sites. When starting on any new job site we submit receipts and documentation required for that project. Industry receipts are reissued on a monthly basis to show the principle contractor that we are compliant with all our employees.
